Vegetarian/Vegan Alternatives (Desserts)
Well - it was a little over a year ago that I went vegan...
I immediately discovered (and love) Soy Dream, but there are plenty of vegan desserts that I haven't tried yet.
So here's a short list of what's out there, with plenty more to come... (Yes, it IS as good as regular ice cream...!)

Marshmallows (Vegan) (Sweet and Saras)
Yes, Virginia. there *are* such things as vegan marshmallows.  And believe it or not, they're tasty.  Soft marshmellowy goodness, and they melt just like marshmallows too.  (The company makes Mallomars, which I can only imagine are pretty darned decent.  But even alone, these things work.  Halleleuah.)  They even passed the "Scott" test...a non-vegan coworker of mine who gave it a taste-test, and pronounced these little guys more than passable.

Would I try again?  Yep!  Especially as a part of a vegan S'more with Chocolate and Graham Crackers...!

Soy A Too
Soy whipped cream.  Light, yummy, and pretty close to the original dairy version in flavor.  This stuff works well, and I do recommend it.

Would I try again?  Oooo, yeah.  This stuff is *perfect* with Soy Delicious ice cream (see below.)  In a pinch, it even works as a light parfait dessert by itself.  But then, that's something I'm not all that proud of...! :)

Soy Delicious
A non-dairy, gourmet ice cream replacement - available in several flavors, including a chocolate rendition which is positively decadent.

Would I try again?  YES - a perfect replacement for ice cream.  And totally vegan.  With Soy Delicious, I have no urge for Haagen Daaz....

Soy Yogurt
Self explanatory, available in a range of flavors.  I've personally only tried Whole Soy & Co.  Raspberry, but it was pretty decent.  Not bad at all, and worthy of a try if yogurt is/was your thing before becoming vegan....

Would I try again? Yes.  Okay, it's a little calorific for the volume, but then, so is regular yogurt....

Temptation Ice Cream
Another soy ice cream, almost as good (in my opinion) as Soy Delicious.  (Others claim it to actually be better!

Where I found it:  Made in Chicago, and available only in the following NYC locations

Would I try again?  Sure...but I'm just as happy with S.D.  Besides, Soy Delicious is more readily available.

Tofutti
The vegetarian version of Eskimo pies, tofutti do taste right.  But they're itty bitty small, which makes them terrible unsatisfying for anyone with a normal sized appetite...

Would I try again?  Nope - way too small!

Wheeler's Black Label Ice Cream
Word had it that this stuff was *da bomb*, topping basically any other vegan ice cream out there...  Sadly, it was only available in the Boston area.  Until - that is - a recent ice cream tasting at the gallery known as Little Cakes in the Village.  So I ran down to try some...only to be (somewhat) underwhelmed.  Yes, it was good stuff.  Did it blow me away?  Nah.  Honestly, I found Soy Delicious to be equally good, and wayyyyyy more findable.  Ah well...worth a shot!
