Basil Seed
Drink - Vietnamese (Nuoc Da Hot E) Little tiny tadpoles, swimming in a lightly sweetened water. Okay, okay - really, it's basil seeds, that swell up when liquid is added. But they look oh so much like frog eggs. They don't have much taste (it's a texture thing), and the drink is none too sweet. It's not much of a drink flavorwise, but it's kind of fun to watch people move away from you on the Group W. subway bench... Would I try again:? No. Where I found it: Sau Voi |

Beer - 33
- Vietnamese Extremely dry, but you may like it if you're a Budweiser drinker. Purchased in Thai So'n. Would I try again? I'm not much of a beer drinker, so it's not likely. But both of these beers could be good after the right meal. Where I found it: Thai So'n. |

Coffee -
Vietnamese I had this one hot. It's very strong - like an expresso, with sweetened, condensed milk, and a few spices that I can't identify. Not bad - but since I'm not into Starbucks, or lattes, etc., it's not on my list of must haves. If you are, then try this stuff. Would I try again? No - but then, I'm not an expresso type of person. But it might be better iced (I tried it in August). Where I found it: Sau Voi |

Si Muoi -
Vietnamese Crushed bits of salty, preserved plum - mixed with ice cubes and water. Would I try again? Yes - it actually makes for a very refreshing, light summer drink! Where I found it: Phung Hung Cafe |

Soda Sua Hot Ga
- Vietnamese Soda with Egg Yolk and Condensed Milk. The description really explains it best. It's actually tasty, mildly sweet and good on a hot day. Not amazing, but palatable. Would I try again? No - there are too many more drinks to try. Where I found it: Thai So'n |
